About the artist
Born in Cheltenham, England, Barnett now lives and works in Canada. Following his first one-person show in 1972, he has continued to show extensively throughout North America, and has received grants from the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council. An important figure of Canadian art, a comprehensive visual history of his work can be viewed at The Centre for Canadian Contemporary Art.
